My experience with Belief Coding
Share
Hello dear reader!
If you reached this place, you might be into alternative techniques to keep your subconscious mind fresh and healthy. From solitary practices like shadow work or meditation, to sessions of hypnosis or past life regression under the guidance of a professional, I am definitely into that!
That’s why I recently had a session with my friend Alastair Ballentyne of Belief Coding. So if you are curious about what it is and how it works, you are in the right place.
But before starting:
Please do not expect me to describe it as a professional: real pros of this field would do it so much better. I just want to share my personal experience of Belief Coding in my own words.
Also, I'll use expressions like psyche, higher self, past life memory, scenery alternatively. I’ll do it because I believe it doesn’t matter at all if you believe in things such as past lives, or prefer a pragmatic approach, maybe an atheist one. No matter if you believe what you experience is a “real” memory or something produced by your mind, there is something incredibly effective about belief coding that you might enjoy too, to move forward.

What is belief coding (explained by a geek):
Our mind is a sort of operating system. Once activated, this operating system will start saving beliefs that will act as programs. And these programs will affect the way we perceive, act, feel, react to things, people, and events, and evolve in our lives in general.
These beliefs are not always conscious. While you might very well be aware of some (”I believe I’m good at singing”, “I believe I make friends easily”, etc), some others might be hidden in your unconscious and sabotaging your life. Disappointment, traumas, and heartbreaks might make you believe that you are not good enough, not worthy, unlovable, while not even being aware that these programs operate in your system. Anxiety, inexplicable self-sabotage, feeling unsafe when there is in appearance no reason why.... these can be symptoms that something is wrong. Beliefs could be clearly negative, or just limiting, but the thing is that you probably want the best in life, and this applies to how your unconscious should work.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a way to directly access and hack the code? To replace “I am not good enough” with “I am capable”, “I always make the worst choices” with “I’m always able to find the right way”, “people will abandon me if they see my true self” with “I always find people who love me for who I am”?
Even if the belief is conscious, let’s say for example that you are not doing well with money, and that you come from a line of 45 generations always struggling with it, and grew up hearing constantly to stop dreaming because in no way you’ll ever have enough to cover your bills... then the source of your belief isn’t hard to find! Still, it doesn’t mean it’s easy to correct. You might try affirming as much as you can, but in your guts, the assumption that money will always be a constant struggle in your life is still intoxicating you, blocking you from feeling safe and optimistic.
The point of belief coding is to target these naughty ones, find their root, heal/appease/clean them, and then put in this fresh space nice and positive beliefs that will help you live your best life.

So, how does a session work?
The first phase is like a deep diagnosis to identify the limiting beliefs.
You exchange with your professional about the things that are limiting you or impacting you negatively, to find what exactly these negative beliefs are. You might have a precise idea... or not, and that’s not an issue at all. Professionals of Belief Coding are well... professionals! And so they know what to look for. They also exchange for you to make sure they understand well what is happening, and that what would seem to you as a belief wouldn’t be another belief well disguised (the point is to target, and to target well). The process goes deep, and isn’t rushed: it’s really about understanding. This also means digging into uncomfortable stuff but it also feels safe with the right professional (and I had the best).

So the first phase is super important, but... not the funniest in my opinion to be honest. I guess this first phase includes different types of work, but as it feels like a conversation, the whole process was really natural.
The next phase brings TONS OF FUN! For real! Well, I know I’m a bit weird, so I’ll let you judge:
The human compass: your professional guides you to basically use your whole body as a pendulum, full somatic experience. I kid you not! And as obsessed as I am with dowsing, I ADORED IT. I already experienced using my whole arm as a dowsing pendulum (I happened to have forgotten to take a pendulum in my handbag, and it was way before crafting pendulum necklaces, so what could I do? Using my arm and seeing if it worked - it did - was the obvious solution, right?), but using the whole body? Oh, this didn’t cross my mind before, I admit.
This whole exercice not only gives you a tool you’ll be able to access anywhere, but something for your professional in Belief Coding to ask you questions and get answers that will come from your whole body, not just your head, and these answers will help them making sure they provide you the help you need when diving into the next part... the actual exploration!

At this step, the professional guides you to explore the root of your limiting belief. Belief Coding isn’t limited to your current incarnation, so if the cause of what’s bothering you happened in the womb or in a past life, it will get covered.

Obviously, this step of exploration will be completely unique for every person experiencing it. In my case, it was pretty graphic, and I bet it totally depends on why you felt the need for a belief coding session in the first place. As I seek strong transformations, I’m not surprised my psyche, or higher self, or what you believe to take the reins in these situations, lead us to some strong imagery.
And no matter how impressive the images could have appeared to me, I felt at this stage completely safe (again, the importance of picking the right professional).
Alastair guided me to understand the scene, asking me questions about what was happening and how I was feeling at each step.
And once the situation was understood, we reframed or recoded it. By reframing, it’s not just putting words that feel nice, but actually interacting with the scene or memory, using your creativity, intuition, and qualities, to turn whatever you are confronted with into something positive and inspiring, something deeply appeasing.
I have no idea how it works for others, but I felt like reframing the scene, reshaping it, wasn’t done with just one tap of a magic wand. It’s not like “imagine something nice instead” and poof, the scene turns into a fairy tale. In my case, Alastair did it in multiple steps, working with how I felt, how my psychology works. I bet it’s the opposite of “one size fits all”, and that this step, like the others, is tailor-made to fit each consultant.
So now that we have reached the core of the issue, reshaped it, and alchemized it, we can create new pathways into the system.

So the next step is to implement the new core beliefs. Again, your professional guides you and check everything. Do I remember all the details? Absolutely not, but it was a fun and enjoyable process.
Finally, your professional checks everything with you and ends the session, also telling you how you might feel in the future. Drinking a lot of water, resting, journaling if you feel like it, might help to really integrate the gorgeous work you just did.
And what’s next?
In the following days, I felt much better than I used to. I could feel that the belief coding session was cooking: I was more the director of my life than a spectator. But the magic keeps cooking in the long run: it has been one and a half months, and I see that my perspective on the future, and my abilities to create the life I want, are much more positive.
Fun detail: while belief coding might act on several beliefs, I notice that a specific one that we recoded brings a massive difference and... it’s not one I had on my “lists” of things to heal, but one that popped out during the session.

A note about the state you experience during sessions like that:
Your professional will guide you to reach a “whole brain state”, which I would describe as a soft trance, or semi hypnotic state. Nothing to fear about that: You might feel extra chill and relaxed, with less mental chatter, which allows you to dive deep, but your consciousness is fully working. You won’t “wake up” without knowing what did happen as you were 100 % here all the time, and all along the session is a team work with your professional.
So, to conclude, what do I think of belief coding?
Honestly, from all the types of techniques guided by a professional to transform myself I tried before, this is largely the one I prefer. I loved how it felt like opening the machine and rewiring it with Alastair. I also love that I could experience results quickly, being sure it really provided results.
If I can compare it to hypnosis, it’s much more interactive. Your consciousness is more present, and it felt more like a team work to me than something I would receive.
I also want to compare it with shadow work (my core solitary practice) it works much more with the body. In my case, I’m a bit of a cerebral person: I can go deep into my mind, but connecting that with my body is much more unusual. So while I can often obtain magnificent results with shadow work, I won’t be fully connected to my physical perceptions, while many things, the best or the worst, can leave an imprint in the flesh. In this regard, I really appreciate how belief coding is a fully integrated experience.
About Alastair:
If you want to experience Belief Coding yourself, of course, I will recommend my friend Alastair Ballentyne. He’s professional, puts you at ease, creates a safe environment, and he’s focused on effective techniques. He also has the most precious quality in this field: integrity!
If you are not new to this blog, you know how I insist on that: empty statements about love and light are legion, but sincere and good professionals are not (if you want to know more, I wrote about that: The ultimate guide to choosing spiritual professionals).
It’s really important to give your money, time, and ultimately access to your mind, to trustworthy professionals, don’t take a bet and choose wisely. So when I recommend someone, it’s only when I have the highest opinion of them.
Alastair has a website where you can access a free masterclass, a great way for you to see if it’s a match: https://alastairballentyne.com
I hope this blog either made you curious about Belief Coding or answered some questions you might have had about it. Let me know in the comments: what is the technique you personally love?
